My stepdad introduced me to paper trading options in 2020. In 2021, I moved into live trading on E*TRADE, putting my own money on the line. My experience grew across options, equities and futures, alongside forex, CFDs, commodities and crypto. Seeing a setup on a chart and watching your own account move are very different experiences. That was the beginning of an education that kept getting more expensive—and more personal.
I have had substantial wins, strong runs and moments when it felt like everything had finally clicked. I have also had bad years, suffered heavy losses and blown many accounts. Both belong in this story. A winning streak can make you feel invincible, even while the habits that will hurt you are still there. Learning to recognize euphoria, examine my own decisions and correct harmful behavior became as important as finding a trade.
My journey has included prop-firm evaluations, funded-account trading and payouts, as well as live cash brokerage accounts. Those experiences taught me to separate passing a challenge, receiving a payout and building a repeatable process. Each demands something different psychologically. I learned that the confidence to pursue a target also needs the discipline to manage losses and protect progress. A challenge pass alone does not establish dependable income.
Over time, my focus narrowed toward the Dow Jones / US30 and the morning open. Specialization gave me a clearer way to review my decisions, instead of constantly jumping between products and ideas. I pay attention to streaks of wins and losses, the emotions they create and the risk of the next trade. Every trade can lose. That understanding belongs in the plan before the entry, and in the review afterward.
Our mission is to help people develop into capable, disciplined traders. Every trade is a wager on an uncertain outcome. Hope alone does not make a trading plan. We want traders to understand their risk, think clearly about position size, accept that a trade can lose and recognize when emotions are driving the decision. Hedgeless creates room to discuss the whole journey: wins, losses, resets and improvement. The free crash course shares lessons from that experience.
